Ahead of its submission to festivals worldwide, the new short The Summoner has conjured up a trailer and a poster.
Writer/director James Secker tells us, “With The Summoner, we set out to create something fresh and modern but with a nostalgic twist. The film is a love letter to action, horror, and romance films of the Eighties without having a specific date or time. Last summer we put the project up on Indiegogo and hit 101%. Filming took place over the course of four days. The original soundtrack was released on Lazerdiscs Records in November 2016 and has gone on to receive rave reviews from fans and critics alike. The film is currently being submitted to festivals worldwide.”
The Summoner Conjures a Trailer and Poster
The Summoner, a short horror film written and directed by James Secker, is currently in the works to debut at festivals across the world. The trailer for the project shows off what would happen if Ash from the Evil Dead got blended with Father Merrin from The Exorcist. An ass kicking, possession punching badass if I ever saw one. Either way, you can check out the trailer for yourself directly below…
From the opening bars of ‘The Summoner’ were definitely in shamelessly retro territory.
The aforementioned ‘Summoner’ is the equivalent of Mel Gibson’s Riggs in the Lethal Weapon franchise. He’s brooding, probably drinks too much and has been hurt in the past.
